Fine or Shared Dining? Planning Your Villa Dinner in Curaçao

A dinner at your own villa is one of the nicest ways to spend an evening on Curaçao. No reservations, no taxi home: just good food, good company and a table that is yours for the night. When guests ask us about a private chef, the first question is often the same: fine dining or shared dining? Below we explain how the two compare, and how planning works from your first message to the evening itself.

Fine dining: a restaurant experience, course by course

With fine dining, we bring the restaurant to your table. The evening starts with elegant amuses to awaken your taste buds, followed by a carefully curated menu of 3 to 7 courses, made with seasonal ingredients and served plate by plate.

Fine dining suits evenings where the food takes center stage: an anniversary, a milestone birthday or a group of friends who love to discover new flavors. Every course has its moment, and you simply sit back and enjoy.

Shared dining: generous, relaxed and made to share

Shared dining is all about the table. Vibrant bites and generous platters go in the middle and everyone helps themselves, so the conversation keeps flowing. It is perfect for gatherings with friends or family, and for groups who would rather eat together than wait for the next course.

Which style suits your group?

  • Choose fine dining for a special occasion, a set rhythm and a menu that tells a story from the first bite to dessert.
  • Choose shared dining for a relaxed evening, a lively table and plenty of choice for everyone.
  • Still in doubt? Tell us about your evening and we'll create a custom menu together.

You can see both styles side by side on our Fine & Shared Dining page.

How booking a private chef in Curaçao works

  1. Send us your request with the date, the number of guests, the location and any dietary wishes. Our experiences are for groups of 4 guests or more.
  2. We put together a menu and a quote for your evening.
  3. Your booking is confirmed once we have received the 25% deposit.
  4. Confirm your final number of guests no later than 4 days before the event.
  5. On the day itself, we take care of the grocery shopping, preparation, cooking on-site, service and cleanup.

How far in advance should you book?

We recommend booking 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially during high season and around the holidays. Planning something smaller at short notice? It is always worth asking: we'll do our best to make it work.

Allergies and dietary requirements

Let us know about allergies, intolerances and preferences when you send your request. We tailor every dish to your guests, so everyone at the table can enjoy the evening.

What does a private chef in Curaçao cost?

Our private chef experiences typically cost between $85 and $175 per person, with a minimum spend of $350 per culinary session. The price depends on the menu, the number of courses and your group size. Staying longer or coming with a bigger group? Depending on the number of days and guests, we put together a package deal. Plans changing? Up to 7 days before your event, you can move it to another date, subject to availability. Read the full cancellation policy.
